Changing a last name for family reasons can be a deeply personal decision. It may be done to honor a family member, to distance oneself from a difficult family history, or to create a sense of unity with a new family. Whatever the reason, changing a last name can be a meaningful way to express one's connection to their family and heritage. **

First name and last name are not the same. The first name is the name given to an individual at birth or during a naming ceremony, and it typically comes before the last name. The last name, also known as the surname or family name, is usually passed down from generation to generation and is shared by members of the same family. In some cultures, the last name is referred to simply as the "name." **

In most cases, when someone refers to a person's "name," they are typically referring to the person's full name, which includes both the first name and the last name. The first name is the name given to an individual at birth or during a naming ceremony, while the last name, also known as the surname, is typically inherited from one's family. Therefore, the term "name" usually encompasses both the first and last names of an individual. **
